Mary Riggs Cohen, Ph.D. received her doctoral training in clinical psychology at the Catholic University of America and her postdoctoral family therapy training at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Center. Dr. Cohen is a licensed psychologist in New York and Pennsylvania. She has thirty-three years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families and has specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders for thirty years. As Clinical Director of the Social Learning Disorders Program at the University of Pennsylvania Psychiatry Department, she developed the Social Skills Seminar for young adults on the autism spectrum which was taught at Penn and New York City. She is the author of Social Literacy: A Social Skills Seminar for Young Adults with ASDs, NLDs, and Social Anxiety. Dr. Cohen was the Director of the Center for Teaching and Research in Autism at Pace University for three years and was an Associate Professor of Psychology. She is a frequent presenter at autism conferences and provides professional continuing education workshops on a variety of topics related to autism diagnosis, treatment, and forensic issues. Formerly the Director at Autism Spectrum Diagnostics & Consulting in Doylestown, PA., she has been conducting forensic evaluations of individuals on the autism spectrum and providing expert testimony since 2009. Dr. Cohen is now in independent practice assisting in the evaluation and defense of ASD defendants throughout the U.S.
Dr. Reggie Candio, Psy.D received his doctoral degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his postdoctoral training at Autism Spectrum Diagnostics and Consulting. He holds school psychology credentialing in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. He has an extensive background in educational psychology as well as in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorder and other co-occurring conditions, including; anxiety, depression, ADHD and learning disorders. He also has experience conducting and consulting on forensic evaluations for individuals on the autism spectrum. Aside from his clinical and educational work, Dr. Candio has served and supported marginalized and vulnerable groups in and around the Philadelphia Tristate area through his involvement in program development, public health initiatives, and special interest work groups. Dr. Candio has been involved in key mental health initiatives across the region as an advisory board member and key knowledge expert. Dr. Candio was the Director of Social Competency and Adaptive Skills training programming at the Center for Autism for four years and has been a contributing clinician to two Pennsylvania-based specialized autism clinics. He is a frequent presenter at workshops on a variety of topics related to autism diagnosis, treatment, transition and special education. Dr. Candio is in independent practice assisting in the evaluation and defense of ASD defendants throughout the U.S.
